Our Austria & Germany Pickleball Trip combines two of Europe’s great cities with Alpine scenery, medieval towns, imperial history, and six days of pickleball. We’ll stay in centrally located 4-star superior hotels in Vienna and Munich, giving us two comfortable home bases while we explore some of the most memorable destinations in Austria and Bavaria.

We begin in Vienna, where the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic center, grand architecture, Habsburg history, classical music, and traditional café culture create one of Europe’s most elegant city experiences. From Vienna, we’ll spend a full day in the UNESCO-listed Wachau Cultural Landscape, following the Danube through vineyards and picturesque villages before visiting magnificent Melk Abbey, one of the monumental landmarks within this World Heritage landscape.

We then travel to Munich, where Bavarian tradition meets a lively, sophisticated city. From our Munich base, we’ll explore the historic center, Nymphenburg Palace, Olympic Park, and other city highlights, and take a full-day excursion to Salzburg, whose beautifully preserved historic center is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its Mozart heritage, Baroque architecture, and dramatic Alpine setting.

One of the most personal days of the trip takes us to Nördlingen, the beautifully preserved medieval walled city where Mike once lived. Set within the vast Ries meteorite crater—now recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark—we’ll walk the old city walls, explore its historic streets and squares, and enjoy a more local side of Bavaria before finishing with a beer-garden celebration. Throughout the trip, our pickleball sessions include instruction, organized play, and opportunities to share the courts with local Austrian and German players.
